Kelly Rowland Fuels More Destiny’s Child Reunion Rumors

Kelly Rowland misses the spotlight that’s been snatched away since Destiny’s Child broke up.  Yea, she’s got her own solo career and some new breasts to boot, but it’s not the same.  Fortunately for her, it seems a reunion with Beyonce and Michelle Williams might be in the works.

She recently confided, “I miss the girls, I miss being on stage with them.” She also said that she respects the other members of the group, and that “It’s a blessing when we work together.” Translation:  I make more cash working with Beyonce than I do solo.

The reunion might include new material, but that’s up in the air.  Each of the girls are busy doing their own thing, so finding time to get in the studio could be difficult.  If that fails, they could always do a reunion tour à la the Spice Girls, releasing just one new song and replaying all the old hits on tour.

L’Oreal Denies Whitewashing Beyonce

In a new advertising campaign with L’Oreal, Beyonce Knowles looks remarkably lighter than normal.  The product she’s advertising is L’Oreal Feria, a highlighting kit, so her strawberry blonde locks can be attributed to that.  But what about the lighter skin tone?  Comparing the shots from the ad with other photographs of Beyonce show a significant difference in skin tone.  Is it just a bad Photoshop job or weird lighting?

L’Oreal denies “whitewashing” the singer, issueing a statement which reads:

“We highly value our relationship with Ms Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered Ms Knowles’ features or skin tone.”

Beyonce has thus far declined to comment on the ad.

Aretha Franklin’s Ego is as Large as a Mountain

We all know that Aretha Franklin is as big as a mountain. Now we know that her ego is as well.

Aretha Franklin threw two tantrums during the Grammy Award weekend. First, the “Queen of Soul”, would not let superstars Beyonce or Alicia Keys take the stage at a benefit concert because she was afraid that it would upstage her act.

The New York Post reported:

“Aretha refused to have Alicia Keys or Mary J. Blige perform,” fearing she’d be upstaged, our spy said. Instead, it was a “C-list lineup” of Corinne Bailey Rae, pianist Lang Lang, BeBe and CeCe Ledisi, and Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi.”

Franklin became even more grumpy when she heard Beyonce introduce Tina Turner as “The Queen”. Apparently, Franklin feels that she is the only one allowed to carry that moniker telling People Magazine:

“I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyoncé, however I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy. In addition to that, I thank the Grammys and the voting academy for my 20th Grammy and love to Beyoncé anyway.”

So poor Aretha’s feelings were hurt. She is a (really really) big girl, I think she should be able to handle it.

Judging by their performances on Grammy Sunday, Ms Turner still has it. Franklin’s performance probably had people across the country flipping to see what else they could watch on the tube. Long live the queen (Queen Tina Turner that is).
