Bernard McCollough, better known to his fans and the world as “Bernie Mac” passed away early Saturday morning from complications due to pneumnoia.  He had been hospitalized for the past week at Chicago’s  Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Bernie’s rep issued the following statement:

“Actor/ comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital. No other details are available at this time. We ask that his family’s privacy continues to be respected.”

Bernie Mac leaves behind his wife, Rhonda McCollough, daughter Je’Niece, and his only grandchild, Jasmine.  He will be missed.

Feds have closed their investigation into the death of Heath Ledger. In doing so, Mary-Kate Olsen is off the hook, and won’t be forced into telling them what she knows about the actor’s stash of prescription drugs.

As prosecutors tried to get Olsen to voluntarily speak with federal drug agents looking into Ledger’s January overdose, they kept a subpoena up their sleeves. Mary-Kate had refused to talk without immunity to the DEA and federal prosecutors. Read More »
