Jennifer Lopez is living up to her diva-like reputation. She's been wishy washy about returning to American Idol for a second season, but it apparently all comes down to money - she wants more money.
She had only signed a 1 year, $12 million contract with the show, so she is not obligated to come back. Simon Cowell made $23 million per episode before his departure and JLo probably thinks she's worth that too.
If you happen to visit Paula Abdul's house and get offered a brownie you may have to think twice about eating it. Kara DioGuardi told George Lopez that on a visit to her house she was offered a nice tasty desert.
"The maid at the time found these brownies in the freezer," she recalled. "She took them out, put them in the refrigerator, and I hadn't really eaten much that night... They were these little nuggets, little, you know? I take six, not a lot."
Hours later, she knew something was wrong when she started hallucinating. She adds:
"'I don't even smoke pot. I was hallucinating, I was on an IV. I stumbled out like a junkie... it was bad news. The maid took one and she was in the hospital—I had six, I almost died."
Kara says that they weren't really Paula's brownies but we have all seen those interviews in the past and this story explains a lot. Here is Kara's interview and one Paula's interviews that will go down in infamy.
Lauren Alaina, one of the two remaining American Idol finalists, lost her voice just hours before the final show. Insiders told TMZ that during rehearsal this afternoon, Lauren was supposed to sing three songs. Apparently she's been losing her voice and while she was able to get through the first song, she struggled with the second and simply could not perform the third.
The on-set doctor said that she was trying to sing to the maximum and blew out a vocal cord. But that didn't stop her from taking the stage. She got on stage and said, "I'm here, I'm ready to sing, I'm fine!" If she was unable to perform, producers would try to get Haley to compete against Scotty McCreery.
Uh oh. After favorite Adam Lambert lost out to Kris Allen on the finale of "American Idol", allegations are now flying that AT&T may have helped Kris win. Local AT&T reps from Kris' home state of Arkansas are said to have helped his fans each cast 10 or more text message votes at one time through "power texts."
These votes were made over demonstration phones brought by AT&T reps to two local Kris Allen viewing parties in Arkansas on the night of the final performances.
