Did Katy Perry and Russell Brand split up because she's a party girl and he wants to settle down? Or what about the rumor that Russell had some freaky fetishes that turned out to be just too much for Katy to handle? The real reason behind the couple's split might soon be revealed in a song. Katy is said to have begun writing songs about their breakup.

The Sun reports that Katy began to write when her relationship with Russell started to crumble, and friends of the singer claim that she's started to write songs about her heartbreak. A source revealed:

"Ever since problems started to emerge, she penned her thoughts in a diary which she goes back to to draw upon for lyrics for her songs. She has always said that writing is almost a form of therapy for her and she would often be found in her dressing room on tour writing in her diary. She spent a lot of time in Hawaii over Christmas writing lyrics to two of her latest tracks."

It wouldn't be the first time that Katy has written a song about one of her break-ups. The song "Circle The Drain" from her hit album Teenage Dream documented the reason behind her split with Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy, blaming his drug use.

Katy Perry and her husband of just 14-months, British actor/comedian Russell Brand, spent the holidays thousands of miles apart before announcing that they were getting a divorce. It didn't really shock anyone, but one of the reasons for the split might raise some eyebrows. One sources says that while Katy was kinky in their first sexual encounters, Russells fetishes were just "too much" for her in the end.

The source revealed:

"Katy was kinky enough during their first times together and he was very attracted to her. When things got bad, if they got a roll in the hay, they were always better after."

But, the fetishes became too much. The source added:

“He likes dirty things. He really gets off on one particular porno with a guy in a wheelchair. He’s attracted to things he can’t imagine happening to him.”

Katy Perry admitted she was non-too-pleased that her husband Russell Brand posted a picture of her on Twitter sans-makeup. She told the Mirror:

“He thought it was hilarious, but as you can imagine, I wasn’t too ­impressed. I’m currently plotting my payback.”

According to Us Magazine, Katy Perry has landed a guest starring role on How I Met Yor Mother. She'll play the love interest of Josh Radnor's character Ted. The network is billing her role as "a beautiful, naive girl who the gang resorts to calling 'honey'."

Carter Bays, the show's co-creator and executive producer said in a statement:

"Katy is a tremendous talent and we are delighted to be able to work with her."

Russell Brand is known for two things:  being a womanizer and his odd sense of humor.  Fiance Katy Perry has apparently tamed his skirt-chasing and embraced his goofy humor, but like anyone, she was concerned how her friends might perceive him and hoped that he would be on his best behavior when he finally got to meet them.  Brand, however, almost failed in that respect and at an exclusive pre-Grammy bash began joking about Hitler on the red carpet.

At the Clive Davis party, Brand quipped "Sorry, I thought this was a Clive Dunn event. I thought we'd be here talking about Dad's Army, I've been misled." Not realizing that um, half the people in the room were probably at least partially Jewish (it's Hollywood afterall) and that Nazi jokes aren't cool in LaLa Land, he continued by singing the hit sitcom's theme song, "Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr. Hitler?".  This received some nervous laughter from the party organizers who hadn't a clue what he was on about.
