
Adele, the chart-topping British soul singer, has vowed never to "sell out" by signing up for "shameful" endorsement deals. She's sold millions of albums around the globe, but hasn't used her fame to advertise products, and Adele is convince that she has made the right decision.
Adele told Q Magazine:
"I think it's shameful when you sell out. It depends what kind of artist you wanna be but I don't want my name anywhere near another brand. I don't wanna be tainted or haunted."
Another thing that Adele avoids as much as she can is sitting down for hours of interviews and publicity work. She says she doesn't want her fans to get sick of seeing her on magazine covers, adding:
"I don't want to be in everyone's face. I'm a big music fan and I get really p**sed off when it gets like that... and I don't want people to get like that with me."
Adele is also determined to go against the advice of her management team, playing shows for smaller audiences despite the the fortune she has been offered to play at large venues like London's O2 arena, which has a capacity of 18,000. She explains:
